I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die.

I went to /v/ for the first time in like a year because I started playing New Vegas and everyone there think New Vegas is a tranny game. Fuck

never understood that meme
how do you feel about new vegas anon

I'm not even sure honestly. On one hand, it's amazing, on the other hand, I can't help but feel like I'm playing a tranny game.

Jk, I don't know. It's fun but the UI isn't great. There's too much stuff so you spend a long time cleaning your inventory. And the inventory being what it is just makes it worse. The balance seems a little all over the place. They don't tell you about the radio much in NV so I kinda forgot it was even a thing.
Probably still a better game than FO3.

I would never ask /v/ what they think of old fallout

It was from some article years ago saying NV made them a tranny. iirc it was about the ghouls or mutants in the game and how they found it relatable lmao.

Just beat this for the 1st time a few minutes ago after years of getting filtered by the trials or getting bored in Klamath from running out of ammo. Pretty cool, kind of buggy, didn't play with any fan patches or the restoration project. Started playing a few weeks before I found out the show was coming out. Probably still like the 1st one more, by the end of 2 it was starting to get tedious, even with me only playing it a few hours every weekend. Found the spleen mission on my way to launch the tanker, decided to do it. Fucking stupid, waste of time, annoying.

Probably going to go back an play one, only beatbit twice and last time was like 10 years ago, might see if there's some kind of restored content mod. Did anyone ever try to make a Van Buren mod that was any good?

It's not a tranny game, it's just shit. You're funneled into corridors from the get-go and the entire game is built around the expectation that you're supposed to follow a linear path through the pre-determined corridor or else you miss half the lore and half the XP. On top of that, there's no random spawns, so the surprise of being ambushed in the wasteland is diminished entirely.

I love how you can tell from peoples complaints about NV on if they've ever actually tried to "sequence break" from the first time players path

You've never actually played the game.

I thought the space shuttle in SF was so cool. Never finished this one though.

What's the best way to play Fallout 1 for the first time in terms of mods? I want to play it as vanilla as possible, but I've heard that the Steam version is censored. I've heard good things about Fallout Et Tu though, is that the best way to play it for a vanilla first playthrough?

You can just go back to the places you skipped, anon. It's an open-world game.

I think the censorship got removed. It wasn't there when I played it anyway. There's bugfixes, like Fallout Fixt (which I assume also has improvements from Fallout 2 like being able to push followers out of the way), but I never ran into any major bugs when I played it. Just make sure you turn up the combat speed, and if you want your character to be good at combat, put points into agility.
