So on top of the port of the Working Designs translation to the Saturn version of Silhouette Mirage, there was apparently also an alternate version of the fan translation that re-translated the original Japanese script to be more accurate than the Working Designs one.

Not sure which one I prefer. I normally like more accurate translations, some parts of the retranslation feel much better (Like the mention of the character talking like a robot in the Working Designs version) but others such as this caveman (especially the steroid line) feel like they have a lot more flavor in the Working Designs version of the translation.

Anyone played either of these translations?

Yes, both of them fix WD's attempts to make the game unnecessarily harder than the original.

ITT we post memories/funny stories that stick out to you that are related somehow to /vr/ gaming.

Circa early 90s broke 5yr old all by myself me found a technician working on an arcade game at the county fair. I wasn't trying to be a pest but was curious what he was doing so kept asking questions. He eventually gave me a dollar to go away which I promptly blew on Toki.

Late 90s summer absolutely beautiful outside but I really have an itch to play Comix Zone. End up bringing my crt and Genesis out onto the back deck. Mission Accomplished.

Buying a new game from a store and trying to read the manual in the back seat all by the passing street lights on the way home.

Gran Turismo isn't simulating driving per se, it's simulating life of being a car guy. Gran Turismo is playing the long game, this series wants to see you grow from a boy to a man. It will beat you with a belt with license tests, but when you hit adulthood whether it be your 20s or 30s, you will buy a car that is from Gran Turismo. Owning a car that is Gran Turismo approved feels good.

The DKC trilogy is really about Diddy coming out of the shadow of DK (originally intended as his father), finding love, and starting a family. People hate on vertislops too hard. Honestly, I think screens look bigger on vertislops compared to horislops, since having controls around the screen makes it look cramped and compressed, compared to how vertislops leave the screen area free and uncluttered. Personally, the 3.5” screen on the RP2S felt just a bit too cramped for me, but the 2.8” one on the Miyoo Mini works out just fine.

I mean, compare the RGB30 vs the RGB20SX. Literally the exact same screen, but don’t pretend like the SX doesn’t look bigger.

It's a common theory since 'flower girl' can be slang for hooker and she charges men different prices based what is assumed to be how attracted she is to them. It's been said that she isn't one however and is just a girl selling flowers because they are extremely hard to get in Midgar. She apparently asks Cloud on a date because he reminds her of her ex. The reasons for that are spoilers.

It doesn't honestly matter either way unless you feel like getting into shipping wars that have been done to death for like 20 years now.

I originally got the Gameboy Player around 2006/2007 because I had quit video games and just casually got a few of the games for cheap. Gamestop had a tendency to throw away the box and manuals to save on store space while reducing the price of the game, so almost all the GBA gamest I got were under $5USD each. I think my first one was the 2nd Castlevania where you glowed blue and whipped everything. The GBA library was what kept me entertained in those days. I didn't get a real GBA until a decade later in 2016 as I was always more of a home console player and only had the TurboExpress and NGPC.

Portable gaming didn't interest me until Nintendo actually did something with it beyond "normal games, but not as good and you have to buy batteries" by adding a touchscreen. My first and only GBA is and was a DS, purchased in 2005 or 2006 maybe at Exton Square Mall. For about 17 years thereafter, my only GBA game was FFTA.

Impressed by the OG but wasn't essential but when the NES version SP came out I thought it would be cool and worth a lot one day, at the time was actually thinking of getting a Sega Nomad. Actual did do the single cart multi a couple of times with bomberman, mario kart and mario and it was ok fun but just thought it would be more fun, just not on the level of just playing xbox online at the time. I think we were getting older and if you have different skill levels multiplayer just isn't as fun as when you are a kid.
