Bipolar and Schizo bros.

I'm schizoaffective. I'm on Lamictal and Respiridone 3mg. I stopped my anti psycotics a few days ago and I suddenly am way better at holding conversations. I feel a little anxiety now (felt no fear what soever on meds, ever) but I feel more emotions.

Is respiridone just wrong for me? I was thinking of trying abilify, doctor said it's not as sedating. But I don't know if sedation was the problem.

TLDR: Give me your experience with different anti psycotics

Usually a case of keep trying till something works, other peoples experiences will vary massively to yours. Try the ariprazole (Abilify) and if that doesn't help try another antipsychotic.

I've had risperdal, lamictal, and seroquel in alternating combinations and dosages. Any combination of those always kicks my ass and makes it hard for me to care about the fact that i am a husk.

The funny thing about people, schizobro, is that everything is based more on perception than fact. We can feel better (hell, we can feel) when we're off our dose schedule. But, you see, it's a fleeting delusion of being better that just leads to more confusion and eventually we end up trading pieces of our minds away for the thought that we might feel better now than we did.

The act of medicating with anti-psychs will, by method of working, take the edges off of how you perceive your emotional response. The shitty fact is that there is no combination that will let you feel fine. You can feel off, or not feel off about feeling off.

Catch-22 should have been set in a psychiatric center.

Don't take any. They're all useless and horrible for your health, body, and mind. Enjoy being a zombie, brain atrophy, tardive dyskinesia, and gaining 300 pounds

Of course it's different for different people, but seroquel is generally to knock you the fuck out. Just like resperidone. I was wondering if anyone else had problems talking on one antipsycotic, but no problems off it

Ask for lithium. I assure you that you won't have any of these problems again.

Dont you need monthly/weekly blood tests and isnt it really toxic?

Why do you say lithium is good?

>> No.4182633

>>4182628
Because you won't be able to move half the time to get into these awkward situations.

Resperidone does that for me. I just want to sit around and have no emotion and don't care I am losing friends.

But I forgot my meds for a few days and realized i miss my friends and need to bridge the distance that's been forming

saw an article recently that showed that cognitive therapy is surprisingly effective at mediating schizo-effective symptoms.

I don't have those particular psychological difficulties, but, I have my issues. I exercise, read self-help stuff, meditate, reflect on my experiences frequently, eat right, get good sleep, maintain and look for the positive. You are a shrub, prune thyself.
