What is schizophrenia, exactly?

How similar is it to a strong acid trip?

I feel like I've experienced it mildly, the flood of voices in your head as if it was a feedback white noise. sometimes i get confused, even when im not tripping and fluttering in my vision.

Schizophrenia is a psychiatric disorder that is associated with dopamine hyper-function in the corticostriatal dopamine system. Furthermore schizophrenics exhibit a marked decrease in cortical thickness due to increased synaptic pruning (normally only unnecessary connections are pruned away, but this is not the case in schizophrenics).

The result is hyperactivity in neural areas associated with sensation and perception of vision and audition, so that they often show hallucinations. Furthermore during episodes of psychosis they show (often paranoid) delusions. They also have problems attributing actions to people, so they interpret actions they do themselves as being instigated by others for instance.

If you are seriously concerned with being schizophrenic you want to go see your doctor. Also, lay off the psychoactive drugs. They can induce psychosis in people with a predisposition for them.

When I'm extremely drowsy or on the verge of falling asleep generally I will hear weird sounds in my head that sounds very much like a faint radio broadcast. Apparently it's just part of the dream cycle.

Schizophrenia is a mental illness. Which I have. I've seen people who didnt exist, (thought they did) and heard voices which really didnt exist either (thought they did).

I've had several "entities" tell me to do odd things, sometimes there familiar voices, and sometimes there not.

Sometimes when i here background noise, its usually something that is familiar to me, such as a tv in the living room, or a fan on above me. But it has gotten a lot worse than that before.

Such as shapes manifesting themselves into people. Such as my dark bedroom. Also the constant feeling of being watched, and everytime you turn your head, nothing is there. The paranoia is unbearable at times.

EVERYONE experiences some kind of symptom at SOME point in their lives, dont worry about it, if it becomes a problem, then go to the doctor i guess
