Is Mathematical Biology a hard science?
What about Mathematical Psychology?

no and no.

once again, for clarification:
mathematics
physics
chemistry
-neuroscience

your physics envy is showing.

there isn't any mathematical foundation in psychology nor biology. placing the word 'mathematical' in front of it does not change the content of the vanilla field. i'm sure there's a mathematical history, too, that doesn't mean it's a hard science.

Britfag here. I am in my final year studying Mathematical, Statistical and Actuarial science. Two of my final year modules are mathematical biology. It's really interesting compared to functional analysis or geometry etc. if you are thinking about studying it, I'd say go for it. As long as you can differentiate and draw graphs you'll be ok.

>thinking adding mathematics to a field makes it hard
biology has nothing set in stone, plus biologists have statistically lower intelligence than physicists and statistically believe in a deity more than physicists do.

That's just using statistics on biology data, and statistics is just plain math. Are you trying to say that sociology is hard science because it uses statistics to process poll results?

I'm obviously studying it at its most basic level

(That said, it's still fairly straightforward)

(That said I find maths in general straightforward)
