The purpose of the education system is to see how much shit you can suck so they can give a certificate that says you can truly suck shit.

Discuss.

It's to verify that you have the skill sets required to be accepted into a workforce otherwise anyone can just say they do.

>Skill set = sucking shit

You pretty much summed it up. Maybe for University, this might be important. But everything they teach in elementary could be summed in maybe a 4 years, as opposed to 14.

I spent most of my elementary school years suspended, "in the hall" or in detention because I don't suck shit as well as the others. So I know what I'm talking about

The purpose of the education system is to teach you how to think so that it becomes easy for propaganda on tv to brainwash you. A complacent slave is the best kind.

School is more of a process of teaching you passivity, and imitation. It takes no thought or skill, just obedience.

Yeah, that's definitely why I'm in Medical school. I could have just googled all my clinical experience instead.

The education system to me is a way of not having to work a shitty job when I can just live off grant/scholarship money for the next 8-10 years.

OP speaks the truth.
schools have a certain level. if you are under that level, school is good for you. if you aren't, you are going to want beat the shit out of someone out of frustration.

Med school and "professional" degrees are an exception to OP's rule. They're talking about general education.

I think general education is here to simply give kids something "productive" to do with their time without giving them the responsibility of having to actually work to support themselves. It's a shitty system in my opinion.

Remember public school is commissioned and paid for by taxes. There's no incentive to push children to be successful as that is not the goverment's purpose when they created this system

To say that it should do otherwise is to expect apples to be oranges.

That's why shit like khan's academy, which is in its purest form just 'study at your own pace' is so ground breaking. Oh my god I learned addition now let's keep doing it until later what is this group addition aka multiplication SO CONFUSE

School, the real purpose. All you need to know.

>> No.2812450

The purpose of the education system is mainly to teach you essential skills at a young age, Pre-school - 5th Grade, necessary for your functioning in society. Another purpose of school is to teach you to become obedient, and conformist, hence why they teach you to stand in "single file" lines, or have dress code, and other rules. Once you get to an older age (High School), the purpose is to teach you to become disciplined and hardworking, so that you may benefit society once you become a legal adult.
