Why? The magnet alliterates the projectile towards it, meaning that the bullet would have substantionaly more kinetic energy then it had when it was first fired, meaning that it would hit the magnet (which would be bigger then an MRI machine) with more kinetic energy then a tank shell, and now you have a large paperweight strapped to your head

Of course they could just use a non-ferromagnetic material for their bullets, making the magnet worthless
