The government doesn't want their troops to survive. That's why they haven't put magnets above their helmets.

I got some stuff you should read.

But what stops it from attracting EVERY metal object in the area? You can't make it selectively attract bullets.

Also, I am willing to bet the Army has funded research of this nature.

I'm no genius, but I feel like bullets would travel too fast. If anything the magnet would draw the bullet towards your face.

Theoretically I suppose you could get a super strong magnet that could pull the bullet upwards as fast as it flies toward you, but that magnet would probably cause all sorts of problems with electrical equipment.

Also, the force of the bullet slamming into the magnet on your head would probably knock you over. I mean, I've never been shot but everyone who has says it knocks you on your ass.

Well, every time a troop dies, the government gets to keep most of the money they would have paid them for, so they want them to die in action.

There was one leader who went against the governments' wishes and sought to place a magnet on every troops' head in a 5-year period.

His name was John F. Kennedy.

Think about it.

Bullets are made of lead, the jacketed versions used by most militaries (full metal jacket rounds) are almost never coated in an iron alloy like steel, it is usually copper or nickle, or a mixture. A magnet would have zero (0) effect on almost every bullet used by any military in the world.

That's stupid.

If your soldiers have a better survivability rate then you need fewer soldiers, which in turn is cheaper...

Unless you're Soviet Russia, then you just bury your foes with the dead bodies of your comrades.
