/r/ing all of your silly science images. You know, the ones where there's some vehicle with a magnet hanging in front of it, or some angled mirror bullshit to produce infinite energy, etc.

The stuff that, at first glance, makes you think "WHY I NEVER THOUGHT OF THIS LOL" but then you remember that you're not 12, or if you are 12, you "and what is this".

Pic unrelated. I have nothing to contribute.

Not so much. I'm thinking more, those images you draw up when you're high and you think you've come up with something absolutely genius, but you've forgotten about some fundamental law. Diagrams and shit.

Spacetime isn't constant, that's where gravity comes from. In general, the metric is a function of spacetime coordinates. Take the Schwarzschild metric for example
<div class="math">g=
-\left(1-\frac{2M}{r}\right)\mathrm dt\otimes\mathrm dt
+ \left(1-\frac{2M}{r}\right)^{-1}\mathrm dr\otimes\mathrm dr
+ r^2\mathrm d\vartheta\otimes\mathrm d\vartheta
+ r^2\sin^2 \vartheta\mathrm d\varphi\otimes\mathrm d\varphi</div>
Not very constant, if you ask me, especially for r=0 :>

Indeed, but takes lots of people very long to realize that. The indefinite integral symbol represents an equivalence class of functions, not *a* function, which is why <span class="math">1+ \int f(x) dx = \int f(x) dx[/spoiler] makes sense. Both sides represent the same set of functions.

I like it because it is a bit more subtle than the ones where you divide by zero or go from x^2 = y^2 to x = y.

seems to bring out some pretty strange reasons from some people as well.
