What's /sci/'s opinion is earthquake activity directly related to solar activity?

I dunno I might be finding a connection where one doesn't exist but I've been watching lately and it seems when ever there's been a large CME or magnetic filament snap on the surface of the sun there's usually an upswing of earthquake activity here exactly 3 days later.

yeah yeah but couldn't increased magnetism from the sun create some influence on seismic activity?

i would think the moon would have far more effect than the sun
earths magnetic field comes from earth not the sun
the moon is really tugging on us tho, tides etc

true but those stresses are constant.. Anyway I get /sci/'s general feeling on this. I was only asking because I had recently read some Russian research that would seem to validate that shows definite upswings in seismic activity that correlate to solar maximums. Not to be to herp derp and tinfoil hat but they do predict a fairly large increase for 2012.
