Med school is pretty straight forward. Just do Zanki with Uworld, BnB, pathoma, sketchy micro/pharm, and supplement with AMBOSS/Robbins/costanzo when you want more detail. Uworld is gold but most people recommend saving it. AMBOSS has a Wikipedia-like style and the Qbank is challenging.

I'll rephrase it:
We all know that we build up our immunity when we're kids by being exposed to pathogens and letting our bodies fight them. My question is, does this only strengthen our adaptive immunity? Or does it sharpen our body's natural response to any pathogen?

Vaccines work because they train our adaptive immunity against specific pathogens, which allows us to more readily fight those pathogens when we encounter the real version. This, however, means that when we encounter the real version, our adaptive immunity is ready to fight it, but our innate immunity is not activated as it normally would be, and our overall physiological response to the antigen is much less severe. my understanding of it (from reading molecular biology texts not an expert) is no. innate immunity is essentially like a computer program -- if certain receptors see VERY specific biochemical motifs, it launches a very specific response.

what i understand as the advantage of vaccination is that it creates memory cells that can more quickly respond to the pathogen that shows up next time. the speed leads to the less severe overall physiological response, not differential engagement of innate immunity.

I was thinking that since some things reduce our innate immunity (certain pathologies, certain drug classes, etc) and some things boost our innate immunity (exercise, good diet, etc) that infections and our response to them might be included in having long term effects on its overall effectiveness. But it sounds like the answer is no, getting naturally acquired infections does not improve your body's ability to fight other infections later on.

Thing is to get into the residency I need to do well on the CBSE which is basically like USMLE step 1. Any advice on studying for step 1 basically on my own since dental school didactics don’t prepare you as well for it as med school ones do? I have a masters in biomedical science so I took grad level physiological basis of disease, anatomy, microbiology, immunology, pharm, cell biology and biochem. What exactly is going on in my throat when I vape? When I vape nicotine, I feel like an acute throat hit that becomes tolerable. When I vape THC, it feels like, with water filtration, I can breath in thick clouds and then breath in normal air to fill up my lungs and exhale, but upon on the exhale, it feels like my throat becomes a weird combination of itchy and drying that make me either want to cough or want to make burp movements and burping to sort of "clear" my throat and make sure it's moisturized enough to swallow and burp

I guess what I'm worried about is, does the vapor just pass through the throat at a biologically tolerable temperature and all the sensations are from the chemicals themselves, or does the heat play a role and actually burn tissue and dries out the moisture from your throat.

Because I was under the impression that water contact with vapor basically guarantees it will be around room temperature vapor you inhale, but my throat very obviously does not feel like it felt 10 seconds ago when i breathed in normal air for the sake of breathing

Depends on the age group, really. CSE at a young age, is almost universally traumatic and not normal. Even insects know not to fuck the young. So any well-adjusted non-mentally ill person will look back on such events horror.

Short: My right testicle is half the size of my left testicle. Current meds: Dutasteride

Longer: I did a cycle of steroids (test/anavar) 3 years ago, it lasted 3 months, cycled off with tamoxifen + HCG, testicles returned to "normal" size and testosterone production years later was normal had 2-3 tests done with ranging from 750-900ng/dL (I have been on dutasteride after cycle for hair). Only notable sides from dutasteride were weaker ejaculations but erection difficulties and other more common sides were not noted. However, in the last year or so I have noticed that one of my testicles is nearly comically smaller than the other. The right testicle is in volume more a little more than less than half in size. I am unsure if my left testicle has gotten larger or my right testicle has gotten too small. I do not see any varicocele and do not particularly feel any difference in either epididymis (although could be wrong).
