In terms of straight up genetics I can't say, but humans have evolved past just using sex to reproduce and now seek 'meaningful' relationships. Maybe some people find these relationships in members of the same sex.

ask the old romans about hetero-/homosexuality, they'd look at you as if you had grown a second head

wouldn't that mean, that sexual attraction has its cause in the relationship of 2 minds? because i don't consider this to be the usual.

In part it could be caused by childhood experiences and/or other psychological influences.
