Can we stop calling biology a science? You are doing a liberal arts degree if you're studying biology. The only people who should do this are people who have a mental disease and women.

The problem with biology, from what I have seen, is that you can be terrible at biology and still pass the exams [and do rather well on them] because you memorized the information, at least temporarily. The moments when this shines through rather clearly is when someone terrible at biology is asked to draw some sort of unique conclusion about what is happening in a biological system and they can't or they just ramble through a list of memorized facts. Too make things worse, most people teaching biology at all levels are terrible at biology in the same way and have gotten by on memorized information and haven't really contributed much to the field and get and keep their positions through the fucked up way biology departments are run and organized.
