Nutrient found in beef and dairy improves immune response to cancer

https://biologicalsciences.uchicago.edu/news/tva-nutrient-cancer-immunity

>Scientists at UChicago discover that trans-vaccenic acid (TVA), a fatty acid found in beef, lamb, and dairy products, improves the ability of immune cells to fight tumors.

Is this why """"science"""" is trying to eliminate the cattle industry and blame it for """"global warming""""?

Back in 1971, more than half a century ago, President Richard Nixon declared "the war on cancer". In the subsequent decades trillions of dollars have been completely wasted on research that has gone nowhere and done nothing whatsoever to to prevent cancer, which is still the #2 leading cause of death after heart disease.
Science finally picked up a clue figuring out that steaks are good anti cancer medicine here and it seems like most of the people who claim to love science are thoroughly pissed off about this news.

Never liked mushrooms much.

Some people like their steak with raw onions, never really understood that myself.

I was thinking more whether wine or peppercorn cream sauce the wine works better with mustard but the pepperiness is a strong contender. Alternatively I could be a radical and go for a cheese sauce but that would probably spoil the fried egg; maybe it woulld work better with fried tomato instead.

You have to saute them first and the mushrooms are better if you leave them gills up in the sun for a few hours.

>I was thinking more whether wine or peppercorn cream sauce the wine works better with mustard but the pepperiness is a strong contender.
Depends on whether you want to taste the steak or the sauce. At that point you may as well be eating an eggplant steak or a mushroom steak.

>Alternatively I could be a radical and go for a cheese sauce

I've tried a few options. still not a fan of them.
When I say cheese sauce I mean mopre of a roux stirred with something like a strong grated chedder, it's not pure molten cheese, I would probably add a little red wine to it
It's not a particularly good steak so it needs more of an accompaniment than usual.
Maybe instead of tomato I could add some baked peppers or cauliflower florets?

Better, but still not good enough. Personally, I hate cheese and I think the flavor is done better by milk or heavy cream.

>Maybe instead of tomato I could add some baked peppers or cauliflower florets?
Depends on the flavor profile that you're going for. Cauliflower will lend more to the steak and peppers will lend more to the sauce. That said, I like to add sauteed jalapenos to the butter I fry my steaks in.

Now that's an idea, I'll have to remember to buy some chillies to try it next time.

So you sautee off the jalapenos before you cook the steak to impart the flavour to the meat, yes?
Chopped or whole?

>So you sautee off the jalapenos before you cook the steak to impart the flavour to the meat, yes?
>Chopped or whole?
Usually I prefer sliced or diced. First I sauteed the mushrooms with a bit of water, then I add the onions and possibly some more butter, then I add the garlic and jalapenos, and finally I make a space in the middle, add the steak, and then cover it with the sauteed vegetables. I usually add some wine while it's searing, but the wine sauce it made after removing the meat and draining the fat from the vegetables. More butter and wine is added to the fat left in the pan and simmered on a lot heat until it thickens. Fucking delicious. The wine you pick effects the flavor strongly. I'd recommend a Cabernet Sovereign or a Merlot, but you can play around with the wine to get a variety of flavors.

Elderly people actually experience massive improvements in health and welbeing from shifting to a meat only diet. unlike young people they both need more protein and benefit from an alternative fuel source due to the build up of insulin resistance in the brain

The improvements are often quite staggering just from such a simple diet shift, although suplementing with MCT has also been shown to be beneficial as the brain can more readily use them for energy

I was wondering something, since around 50% of the fat in beef is saturated and sat fat has a melt temperature depending on content of myristic, palmitic and stearic of around 55-65c and the rest is mostly oleic at 15c. how much the congealing of saturated crystals as it comes into contact with your stomach temperature of ~37c has an effect on your consumption of it?

>«The description of “serum sickness” more than a century ago in humans transfused with animal sera eventually led to identification of a class of human antibodies directed against glycans terminating in the common mammalian sialic acid N-Glycolylneuraminic acid (Neu5Gc), hereafter called “Neu5Gc-glycans.” The detection of such glycans in malignant and fetal human tissues initially raised the possibility that it was an oncofetal antigen. However, “serum sickness” antibodies were also noted in various human disease states. These findings spurred further research on Neu5Gc, and the discovery that it is not synthesized in the human body due to a human-lineage specific genetic mutation in the enzyme CMAH. However, with more sensitive techniques Neu5Gc-glycans were detected in smaller quantities on certain human cell types, particularly epithelia and endothelia. The likely explanation is metabolic incorporation of Neu5Gc from dietary sources, especially red meat of mammalian origin. This incorporated Neu5Gc on glycans appears to be the first example of a “xeno-autoantigen,” against which varying levels of “xeno-autoantibodies” are present in all humans. The resulting chronic inflammation or “xenosialitis” may have important implications in human health and disease, especially in conditions known to be aggravated by consumption of red meat.»

>Breakfast
Coffe with a little bit of whole milk, Slice of toasted bread (if I can baguette or a similar bread) with olive oil garlic and some spice, banana, kiwi, apple or orange or melon.
On sundays I make pancakes with honey and eat them with whole milk.
>Lunch
generally take it late betwen 130 and 230. Either sandwich with cheese, ham and egg with regular bimbo type bread, or sandwich with bagette or country loaf with proscitto, slices of tomato and olive oil (also with canned tuna). Sometimes quesadilla with a little bit of salsa verde or avocado. On occassion grilled chicken sandwhich with cheese and dijon mustard. Either this or garbanzos with tomato sauce or lentil vegetable soup.

>Dinner
More variance, but generally a salad with spinach, cucumber, tomato, onion and olives, and a second entree with meat (pork, beef, cod or tuna) with some kind of sauce or sauted veggies on the side. Generally a couple of cups of wine and dark chocolate as desert.

Peatlerian disciple. He sounds retarded but he actually know a lot about human metabolism and diet. At least more than most practicing physicians.

The optimum human diet is fruit and meat. Ripe fruit, cooked (not burnt) meat. Coconut oil is good too. Raw carrots are good for you.

Vegetables in moderation. Raw green vegetables in even smaller quantities. You are NOT a ruminant cow. You are not supposed to eat a bunch of cellulosic fiber like kale. If you have bowel problems it is not because you didn't eat enough fiber - fiber generally causes things to clump, not loosen (unless you are a fatass with a compacted oily turd).

depends how the animal was raised and finished, there's a lot of research onto the effects of different diets on nutritional outcomes.
for example giving them a high fibre diet in the week before dioet reduces fecal contamination problems, and there are issues with insulin stimulating effects of branched chain amino acids that seem to be higher on grain finishing diets.

never force your children to eat vegetables, their instincts are still intact and have not yet been gaslit by society to believe vegetables are good for them (they aren't)
there's no reason to be eating vegetables, there are no nutrients found in vegetables that you can't get in much greater amounts and in a more bio available from eating animal foods

Holy shit this thread has been up for two months. I think also the schizos and poltards have finally won. Nobody uses the only science board on this website anymore because the majority of the thread (including this one) are either clickbait, made up bullshit, pseudoscience, or conspiracy theories. This board has more anti-vaxxers and creationists than it does people who actually believe in science.

Why is human nutrition so controversial?
I never realized how controversial and argumentative the subject of human nutrition was until I went down the rabbit hole. I pretty believed everything I was told by conventional nutrition science, which basically says to eat mostly vegetables, grains, nuts and to avoid animal fats, cholesterol, high protein, etc, etc. Now, I realize that was all lies and was based on fake science. They even taught us that in my high level college courses. Now I know that was all bullshit. I honestly had no idea that the human nutritional sciences were so incredibly biased and based on bogus "studies" and paid off researchers. Human nutrition is probably the most corrupted of all the medical fields. Nutrition in general is ignored by doctors and they instead pump you full of pharmaceuticals. Now that I know this, it pisses me off.

A little bit more nuanced:
>it is pivotal to be aware which foods substitute meat in the low-meat diet. High meat intake is not necessarily confounded by an unhealthy diet, e.g., low in fruit, vegetables, whole-grain and dietary fiber intake and high in sugar and alcohol [97].
So eat like Paul Saladino but not like Shawn Baker? Weird definition of ''high meat''.

>Moreover, the groups with high meat intake along with an unhealthy diet were shown to have a significantly higher dietary intake of foods which may have the potential to increase disease risk (e.g., fried potatoes, high-fat gravy, fatty spreads and fast foods) when compared with groups with high meat intakes as part of a healthy diet [98].
You're going to blame seed oils aren't you? But even Baker suggests that eating big portions of butter a every day is not a good idea. Saturated fat in meat has a different effect from concentrated saturated fat.
