It works fine since most instructors did not grow up with chinese friends or co-workers to distinguish between faces. I'd argue that other countries have more altruism than Europeans on average considering how they trusted europeans when they arrived in their countries. Colonialism was only made possible by local mercenaries and allies in the places they conquered except Africa.

At my uni I've only noticed cheating among the freshman and sophomore courses, and by the time you get to upper level math courses most of those who cheated their way through calculus 2 and 3 get annihilated on the first exam and drop. The professors in the math department generally word questions in a manner which you won't see in a textbook or previous problem set so interpreting it correctly is really what determines your exam grade.

Those who remain, i.e. didn't cheat are totally bros though.
