Just keep going. As the other comments say you shouldn't try to memorize but try to understand why the proof works(I know it sounds cheesy). And feeling like you're not learning is pretty normal, proofs and higher mathematics, in general, are never going to become as automatic as basic arithmetic or algebra. Just try your best, learn from your mistakes and you should be fine (^-^)
