This is a great design. You could even remove the wings, engine, and tail since they are no longer needed for lift, propulsion, or steering. All that leaves is the fuselage. If you make the top of the cabin out of non-magnetic materials, then you could put the lift magnet inside the fuselage and just rest it on the steel floor without the external crane and cantilever apparatus.
