>implying this is a psychiatry thread
>implying psychology is a hard science
hmmm. You probably won't find a warm welcome here.

Super Schitzo! Damn, you may have weird ideas but you're giving me great ones. Your superpowers are starting bad threads on the wrong board, not using /soc/ to get a feelsbadman.jpg thread, etc etc etc.

>who gives a shit what your doctor thinks
>oh he said i schitzo so i better act schitzo
Get a doctor who actually, you know, inspires you to figure out how to fix it. That's how you contribute to science. Figure out this tough problem,
>cure yourself or whatever
>publish papers
>???
>profit
Also, who cares if doctor says you are something or not. Instead of embracing a problem, figure out how to fix it or how to get help dealing with it. You don't hear people saying
>i'm a diabetic
>am i the good kind of diabetic?
>i haz cancer
>is it the good kind of cancer?
If your 'disease' is just as serious, you have to be the one to treat it that way.

>psychology isn't science
>still calls a psych disorder an 'illness'
You can't have it both ways

>implying your brain has to be abnormal
No, sometimes all you have to do is convince yourself something is wrong, and your body will react accordingly. That's psychology, and that's the science side of it. Pavlov, anyone? It's not neurology, neuropathy, etcetera.
Also, no, science is things that can be done empirically. Psychology is largely anecdotal at this point. Although, there is some science, just saying 'doctor said I have mental 'disorder'' doesn't exactly qualify as science. Mainly because you don't really have a test for it. We can test for high white blood cell counts. We can't test for high schitzophreniagen counts.

You can't get over problems you don't face. If you've got a problem dealing with people, start dealing with people if you need to change it. If you're simply reaffirming a particular behaviour.
