I believe it's for developers to pull data from custom API's without talking to node operators.
Under the current model, a node operator must set up the jobs to pull data from API's. Developers then consume for their apps.

It means developers can pull more data over the chainlink network without waiting for node operators. They should be able to develop new apps faster and expirement more. It should help feed more data through the chainlink network and drive more fees due to higher usage.

In my view this may lead into neet nodes being viable since a neet node might be automatically selected into a pool. Staking (verifying data correctness) would be more useful here and in higher demand since it's "unverified" neet nodes that must report correct data.
I am assuming this iteration will use the known named nodes.

Ultimately it's bullish.
