It is the graphics that powered my time with World of Warcraft. I really did like BFG Tech in those days, but I think my 8800GT was from eVGA paired with the parts in this pic. It was a good card that was inexpensive yet lasted for many years.

>copper fins and heatpipe on the motherboard
we need to bring this back, it's so much better than the giant iron blocks they slap on them nowadays. Hell I can just put 15+ year old aluminium heatsinks on the motherboard VMRs and it cools them better than the crap they put on them by default.

VRMs should have proper cooling and the large heatsinks should have enough surface area to dissipate the heat. What attracted me to that motherboard was the integrated Soundblaster chip on the lower left above the VIA chip, as I would have gotten something from Creative anyway.

>>10889601
Yeah, the 8800 cards were so good that they just repackaged them again for the 9000 line and hoped no one would notice.

I wanted a XFX 8600 GTS so bad, but my parents refused to buy one

There was nothing like buying one of these and playing CS:Source, HL2 and mods on max graphics.

Ah yes, the Geforce 8800 series. The first GPU to introduce 100 degree temps as a standard feature.
How many of you guys ended up doing the oven trick on your cards? I did mine once, worked for another nine months after that.

I did the pencil mod and got a free 6800 ultra out of it too!
