sup /sci/, i have a question, it probably sounds stupid xD
but think about it, why do you need maths when there are calculators? :o (pic related)

>> No.4213233 [DELETED]

Calculator's are not precise. They round up numbers. For example they say 0.999... = 1 although everyone knows they are not equal.

Get your calculator out and tell me how much current will flow through the drain of a MOSFET whose threshold voltage is 1.5V, whose gate is at 1.5V, whose drain/source is supplied with 25 volts while the d/s impedance line is 1kOhm.

Then i'll tell you why you can't just do math on a calculator.

Calclators do math for us. Without math to do, there is no calculator.
To address the question as it was more intended, its because you need to UNDERSTAND the concept before you can actually do the advanced maths on a calculator. Many scientific jobs and branches require complex calculus-based formulas, and usually calculators ARE used. But to understand such a formula, you still need to learn it.
Also, doing simple math in your head is easier than actually pulling out the calculator. Overaall, if you really ARENT interested in math as a career, i guess you really wouldnt need the math you wouldnt use.

No, this is for real. Look at the fucking summation, retard. Its:
.1 + .01 + .001 + .0001 . . . + 10^-n as n goes to infinity.

it equals 1/9th. There's no arguing this. 1/9 equals .1111111111 . . . (repeating). Do the long division.
