Help me /sci/entists.

My physics prof. can't speak a hint of english and the book doesn't explain any correlation between centripetal force and friciton.

come on /sci/

I know you're better than this.

>> No.3878087

Have you drawn a free-body diagram?

>> No.3878123

>>3878087

Yeah. That's how I got #12.

But I don't understand how a frictionless environment would affect the centripetal force.

What kind of idiot professor uses metres and Newtons and megagrams?? All right, the car has mass 2400kg (in the MKS system, duh) therefore weight 23520N, and centripetal force (part 013)
23520tan(26) = 11471N

Shameless self-bump

Just 14, 15, 16 left.
Please /sci/, I needs this!

Have you even honestly tried these problems or do you just want us to feed you the answers?

Like I said, if you draw a free-body diagram, 14 15 and 16 will all be very clear.

I tried doing the Normal force, Question #14 this way (the basic FBD method):

------------------------

If m=2400kg , then W = 9.8*2400 = 23520 N

therefore,

N = W*cos(26) = 21139.64 N

Site says: INCORRECT
-------------

I'm promise you I'm not a retard trying to leech.

The answer for #14 is NOT this.
And I cannot continue if this is the wrong answer.

It's N = W/sin(64) or N = W/cos(26)

You're saying the normal component of gravity is larger than the modulus of gravity?

Tried that an hour ago.

I answered: 26168.40

...which is within the 5% error of your answer.

Though, while we're at it- can you explain the reason for why we divide instead of multiply in this case?

Yeah, you are right here.
So it should be N= W*cos(26)
