>In a study released by the International Journal of Biological Sciences, analyzing the effects of genetically modified foods on mammalian health, researchers found that agricultural giant Monsanto's GM corn is linked to organ damage in rats.

>According to the study, which was summarized by Rady Ananda at Food Freedom, "Three varieties of Monsanto's GM corn - Mon 863, insecticide-producing Mon 810, and Roundup® herbicide-absorbing NK 603 - were approved for consumption by US, European and several other national food safety authorities."

The assertions that GMO's will help feed the world are NONSENSE!

Companies that make GMO's have never produced a seed that is more "productive" than conventionally bred seeds.

GMO's are made to create reliance on the company's pesticide.

Come back when it's linked to organ damage in humans.

So we should give GM food to humans and hope nothing happens?

Or we could note that organ failure in rats strongly suggests that it has adverse health effects.

There's no animal on this planet that eats nothing but corn. But point that out nowadays and you can lose your job

>Whether Mr. Salvador's statement about how meat should be produced was his undoing is hard to say for sure. But even the issue of whether cows evolved to eat grass can be a touchy one at Iowa State. When asked, in an interview with The Chronicle, whether she thought cows evolved to eat grass, Ms. Wintersteen, the agriculture-school dean, declined to answer. "I don't have an opinion on that statement," she said.

They can do studies with people.
They didn't do any fucking studies for GM food with people.

They didn't have the time and chance to. Does that automatically mean that we should take a chance? Lack of evidence of risk is evidence of safety.

So? The source is valid.

Now go watch Food, Inc so you can see how many products have corn by-products in them. Its obscene. It is amazing how much food you can get from an heirloom pumpkin patch (Amish are the best!)

The source is shit too, as is any *single* study. Hell, the guys even say in their very own paper that their findings require corroboration by follow-up studies, as they were indicative of a certain toxicity, but not conclusive.

I'm not saying there's nothing wrong with the GM corn they tested. I'm saying a single study doesn't quite warrant the "WE TOLD YOU SO!" knee jerk you and the Huffington Idiot Brigade are pulling over this.
