No. He's an idealist with a limited supply of money. We aren't going to Mars. Once his money dries up I doubt anyone will replace him, and since there is no profit to be made on going to Mars, or space exploration in general, then we won't do it. The same reason we haven't gone anywhere since 1971.

Elon only said he wanted to "get the ball rolling". He hasn't exactly laid out plans for grand galactic imperialism.
