What the hell does grass have to do with mustard gas?

And I've seen another one of these things that said you needed copper coins, what about that?

Mustard gas is more than just bleach and ammonia isn't it?

>> No.2049195

Probably just to mix things up a bit. People would probably understand something is up if the only ingredients were bleach an ammonia.

>> No.2049201

It's to make it seem less obvious what it's realy doing.

So mustard gas is nothing more than bleach and ammonia?

I had hoped it was a bit harder to make than that.

>Mustard gas is more than just bleach and ammonia isn't it?

"The sulfur mustards, of which mustard gas (1,5-dichloro-3-thiapentane) is a member, are a class of related cytotoxic, vesicant chemical warfare agents with the ability to form large blisters on exposed skin."

The recipe in OP makes chlorine gas I believe.

It doesn't create mustard gas. It creates chlorine and some toxic compounds of nitrogen and chlorine, I believe.

>> No.2049229

Bleach and ammonia release chlorine gas as they react. This has nothing to do with mustard gas. Although that doesn't mean you'd be any better off with the chlorine.

>toxic compounds of nitrogen
>from ammonia and bleach

jesus christ, kids these days

I'd take chlorine over mustard gas any day.

Some retard in my town died doing this a couple of months ago. When I read "following false recipes on how to make crystals" (or some similar shit)I couldn't help but laugh out loud.

The coins/dirt is probably to help the formation of bubbles.

What, was there a newspaper article or something? If so, can you point us to it?

What seems to be the problem? NaClO and NH3...

Nitrogen Trichloride

According to Wikipedia it "has the same effect as that of tear gas"

The paper is called "NORRAN", hopefully you know Swedish. I've searched for it on their website but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Guess I'm lying.

Also chloramine and dichloramine. NH2Cl and NHCl2.

no, it produces chloramine which breaks down into nitrogen and ammonia

Half wrong.

Afaik the reaction will create chloramine and chloramine only at STP.

Would it be NaClO+NH3->NaOH+NH2Cl?

yes
