So, lately i wanted to make a space game with procedurally generated things like planets, stars, asteroids, nebula's etc etc. so after a couple of hours i mixed up something pretty neat. no planet will ever be the same!

Know a tiny bit of some stuff, im making this in AS2, trying to learn AS3 at the moment as well. I'm not really sure what my career goal is, most likely making a really good AS3 (good enough to get really popular) game and letting people purchase the full version for $5 or something and get rich like that.

Also, automatically zoom the frame to encompass the local planet. Introduce gravity which effects the ship.

I haven't decided yet, i might make gameplay mining or something, and have the minerals unique to every planet, and the mineral name and property will be completely unique and random for every planet, or i might just make it where you can select different lasers and you fly through space trying to survive while shooting other ships, etc.

Thanks, and i will most likely go somewhere with this if i get at least some verbal support haha.

as to what the gameplay will be about, i really dont know yet but i have many interesting ideas. once i fine tune and add a lot more to the basic engine i might narrow it down.
Right now i just finished my garbage collector! if a planet and moon are to far from the player they get deleted!, now i gotta make the procedural generation code, should be fast.

Sorry for the long wait guys, i was pretty lazy when i made the hittest for the ship hitting things, it didn't work right at high speeds to i changed it, NOW i can qquickly do the generation. then i can add stars.

the glowyness of the planets was supposed to be a sort of atmosphere that was different for every planet. i plan on making the color generation for planets not pick star red, completely white, or light blue so you and make stars have like 3x as much glow as a very glowy planet so you cant confuse them
