The 4chan 2013 Winter Cup begins this friday at 18:00 GMT. I propose we only have one thread for the duration of the cup, which shall be this one. Both moot and mods have made posts saying the cup is not forbidden, so please do not ruin the thread with sages saying you hate it, as then we'll just have to make another one. Thank you.

We are in group E, a fairly open group, though the teams in it aren't the best. I expect us to qualify, probably top, but obviously anything can happen. We have a few new players, such as Intellectualism and Secret Italian Supercat.

Please do not link the stream or /vg/ thread in this one. Both are easy to find through the wiki.

There is still discussion over when the other group stage games will take place. I will post the date and time in here when a decision has been made.

Merry Christmas /sci/. I haven't posted for a while, so I thought I'd update you all.

We only managed to draw in our friendly with /3/, meaning we are in pot 3 for the Winter Cup, which is at the start of February. The new signings (Secret Italian Supercat and Sun of Ice) are settling in well, and there may be some more new players if enough people want them. I changed our non-Bill goalhorn to The Elements Song, and was hoping to get some opinions on it from the friendly, however, only Bill scored, so it never played.

Any comments/suggestions welcome. And as always, and offers for testers will be gratefully accepted.

I've been away the past 6 weeks, how did we do in that 4chan cup? Do we even have a manager?

Ok, the Autumn Babby Cup concluded yesterday, and I have written a recap/evaluation of our performance.

Group stage. We got a fairly easy group, consisting of ourselves, /trv/, /f/ and /cgl/. /cgl/ didn't submit a complete roster in time, so had no g/s/b/ players and the worst possible goal keeper. This meant we were effectively in a 3 team group, as everyone would almost certainly beat them. /trv/ were one of the most hyped teams, and /f/ were average, but had a manager, which counts for a lot. I expected to qualify second after seeing who else was in our group.

/f/. This was our first match, and one I tested extensively for. My results showed we had an 80% chance of winning, with the score probably being 4-2 or 4-1. In the end it was 4-1, despite /f/'s manager making more changes to their formation than I had expected. I was happy with this result, as people thought /sci/ were shit due to the 7-1 loss to /wg/ in the friendlies and this showed what we could do. Also, Bill got a hat trick which was nice.

The 4chan Autumn Babby Cup begins tomorrow. /sci/'s first match is against /f/ and kicks off at around 23:40 GMT. Should be a fairly easy win, but will still be entertaining.

The tournament promises to be exciting, with no clear favourites, meaning qualification to the Winter Cup, is very open, so tune in.

THE BABBY CUP IS THIS FRIDAY. /sci/ is in Group C with /cgl/, /f/, and /trv/.

Ok, the cup is this month, and /sci/ has drawn relatively easy teams. We should progress through to the knock-out stages, thereby qualifying us for the Winter Cup. However, I do think we can go quite far into this cup, but I think we'll have to be lucky to win it. Can be done though


Some exciting new players have been brought in, namely Aquatic Hamster and Qualia, with more in the works. Expect to see Italian Super Cat in the Winter Cup.

Friendlies didn't go quite according to plan, however, I've learned a lot and will improve due to them. We have two testers, a luxury for a team in the Babby Cup, so don't be reluctant about getting hyped.

If anyone doesn't know, I am the manager of our team in the 4chan Cup. I am going to try and post fairly regularly regarding the team's situation, however, I don't want to give too much away to opposing boards, for obvious reasons.

I am pleased with testing. I have elected to stick with using 3 defenders, a system that is working well and conceding few goals. There is a defensive midfielder in front, both defending them and distributing the ball to the midfielders and strikers. There is attractive but ruthless passing and interplay between the front 6 players, normally leading to a high number of goals being scored. Bill no longer gets as many goals as he used to, however, other players score many more than they previously did, leading to a better, more balanced team.

Testing could be a lot quicker and more efficient if I had some people helping me with the task. Please post if you are interested. No knowledge of PES/football is required.

Hello.

I am here to talk about your 4chan cup team. As some of you may know, you were relegated in the summer cup, and now must fight in the babby for a place in the winter cup. You have one of the better squads in the tournament, and should go up.

However, there is no point in good players if you don't have a manager. I know it was Dicks, but I understand he is now to busy to carry on. If this is not the case, please inform me, and if possible, provide an email address or other way of contacting him.

But if it is, I would be honoured to be your manager. I regularly browse and post on /sci/, and have a good understanding of the board. I watch a lot of football, particularly the EPL. I also have a lot of experience of football video games.

I am sure /sci/ can be restored to its former glory quickly and easily, and we will all be able to cheer Bill, Carl and co on in the winter cup.

4ChanCup thread. There is a friendly between us and /pol/ today at 20:00 CEST. If I've got my time zones right that is 14:00 Eastern. If you have no clue what I'm on about head to the website (http://4chancup.wikidot.com/start)) and read up.

So in honor of what I can only assume is a /pol/ raid I'd like to remind the board that there is a 4chancup friendly against /pol/ this weekend. There is also an active survey (so far 5 people have taken it) at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8XKMRVW which should finalize the roster for the match (and hopfully for the summer cup). In other news /fit/ has accepted a friendly with us which fills out our schedule.

So this poll resulted in a small change in the roster. Transhumanism is back in at the expense of Ancient Aliens. /pol/, /fit/, and /m/ are the clear favorites for opponents in friendlies. Unless there are objections I'll offer matches to /pol/ and /fit/. The starting line-up is finalized with Eugenics missing out. The final medal is still up in the air, so that will have to be addressed some how (any suggestions?). There is a general desire for new designs and colors for kits. The more popular color schemes were Boron and Bismuth with Nitrogen and Hydrogen as close thirds. I'll post a couple schemes below, but any suggestions for new kits are more than welcome.

Since this has been an issue of late, do not edit the wiki until the board has reached a consensus on a decision. The current team can be viewed at the site below. Let's stay away from tactical decisions (skill cards, medals, positions) for now as those should be discussed with the team trainer.
