No, SLS is what happens when boomers do bad things. If boomers gave a shit about space all the post-shuttle stuff would have been neatly planned out in the early 90s and completed by 2000. Instead, all of this except the ISS was cut out by budget hawk republicans because science is gay. It was then contracted to Russia, and this had to end in 2014 due to their invasion of Crimea. Now things have really escalated with their war in Ukraine, and the govenrment just isn't capable of fighting the mission it needs to preform. Attempts to repair this are castigated as leftist, socialist, gay and liberal by /pol/ who has their cohort in Congress block progress and financing of bigger, better, newer rockets that aren't shuttle-devrived systems. Hence the attempts to do commercial crew with SpaceX, as that was the only thing republicans could agree to do under Obama.

It's a supply chain problem top to bottom due to a lack of investment. However it's resolved is anyone's guess but the right has no answers except demolishing it because science is gay and you will never be a woman, tranny panic and so forth.
