It'll be a return to 2017-2020 when SpaceX could move faster without so much federal nonsense, but now with interest rate hikes having shaken most of the crap out of the launch market.

Brazil and India joining the Artemis Accords, a No Chinks in Space club, means the concept is dead.

The Space Force should have a lunar defense grid to chase out or destroy any Chinese spacecraft that attempt a landing.

Sometimes 4chan's autism pierces the veil of time and sees the future before major players do. /g/ did it with corporate surveillance and proprietary software, /pol/ did it with Trump, and now /sci/ is doing it with Starship.

Mars has no ecosystem other than what we make so as long as it's within the capacity of engineering, I'd say so. It would be a lot more viable with life extension technologies so you could have a single generation watch the thing go up and move in.

>I thought about writing a sci-fi story in this setting, but now I think you should do it.
Thanks, it does fit with a partial setting I've been working on.

Staging gets more complex the more of the rocket you reuse. Compare the reusable sea dragon heavy Mars mission someone did in KSP versus the simplicity of Starship+SuperHeavy. A Liberty Ship or something very much like it is inevitable if someone wants to surpass SpaceX instead of throwing themselves at cloning Starship and the Raptor.
