Hello /sci/. I have never done any algebra/pre-calculus before in my life. However, I want to start general chemistry, and later move on to bio chemistry and organic chemistry. Now, for someone who has very little foundations in math, what can I expect? Is chemistry very difficult and math oriented?

Thanks.

/sci/, why the fuck aren't you hard at work making moon rockets.

Is the point in space where the Earth's and the Moon's gravitational forces cancel each other out of any significance?

What about the respecitve points in space between the sun and the planets?

Hey /sci/, I have some quick questions.

-In terms of time (ie how many hours worth) how much breathable air can a space suit with a PLSS carry?
-Are these suits bulletproof? My research indicates that they are heavily insulated ans specially designed to avoid breakage, but can they stop bullets?
-How strong are the glass(?) panes on the helmets? Are these bulletproof?
-If broken (ie torn, broken, leakage occurs) will the wearer undergo explosive decompression?
-How well do conventional firearms (ie pistols, rifles) work in space?
-Do the answers to the above questions change if on the moon, as opposed to in space?

Many thanks, /sci/entists.

Ok, thanks everyone. I feel that I have alittle more clarity now. I do hope that this is just a phase. I'm not exactly enjoying this whole situation and there's a surprising amount of resistance when around people who know you aren't happy like them. They feel the need to 'help out' which only makes it more awkward. For the record, I'm not sad, or upset. I came here asking these questions because I realise that something isn't right. People have told me I've changed, and I'm well aware of it, and yet can't see any way out of it. It's like I'm totally neutral towards it all. I actively try to clarify myself when people question my logic, and don't mind talking about it, but at the same time I feel like I'm just cementing myself into this mindset. On one hand, I don't want to stay this way; I may as well enjoy what I have while I have it. But then, I can no longer see what makes everything 'special'. 'Beautiful things' like meteorological phenomena and mysteries such as the purpose behind life no longer concern me, and I feel like I won't ever fit in with those that still feel that way. On top of that, I'm wildly conflicted in that I'm not sure I really want to become ignorant of all that I've realised, just for the sake of happiness, assuming that's even possible. And even if I could, it stands to reason I'll just undergo this whole mental spasm again a few years down the line. I don't really know what I want. Thank you anyway; you've been the first to properly understand this all. I think I can sort out my head a little more now. Ta.
