What were the absolute worst parts of Infinite Jest for you?
I'm 200 pages in to this shit and but so there's already been like 5 parts I could forgive somebody for dropping the book after getting to

Should I get this edition or picrel?
>inb4 sweaty hands
That's not a problem
I read somewhere that you should get and edition where the notes are at the end.
Which one of these two has the notes on the end?

It's laughable anyone thinks Infinite Jest is as good as Gravity's Rainbow. David Foster Wallace wouldn't have necked himself if has work was anywhere near as good as what he ripped off.

How to read Infinite Jest?

I started frequenting /lit/ some 10+ years ago and took a good long break. Undertook a master in Philosophy since then partly from being introduced to Wittgenstein here and joining Skype/IRC chats about him, and now I started reading Infinite Jest also memed so much here.

150 pages in, some of it is fun, but much of it is hard to read. I enjoy the themes on pleasure, satisfaction and absurd characters, but some of the plot is hard to grasp, both becasue of it is convoluted/loosely connected, but also the language and style. Right now I am on the page of all caps concerning 'teleputing'. (Which is interesting with 2024 hindsight, but hard to place in context of the novel).

Is there some modern/post-modern/new-sincerity pipeline I should know more about? How should I read "And but so"? It's in the slang, drug-trade-gone-bad part, as well as the last sentence of this all caps 'videophony' page.

Is there any other good book with a sports theme written by a former athlete? I don't want shit written by an intellectual nerd who has never played a sport in his life so his choices are shit, and I don't want a book written by a retarded athlete.
