Instead people today use these fragrances to stand out, you mostly see this with females, if you walk past one 9 times out of 10 you're going to smell their mid (though very noticable) perfumes whereas most men don't use them 24/7 for various reasons. Today most men use deodorants not to be noticed though instead to simply not smell like a penis.
