anyone have the harbor freight cordless ratchet? would you recommend it? im debating if i should go with the hercules or just pony up and go with the dewalt or mulwaukee. im just a DIYer.

>> No.2522657

I believe Ryobi is cheaper than that. I would do that over harbor freight, and I like harbor freight

I have the Milwaukee for my home toolpile and use a harbor freight at work. The harbor freight batteries are not as good. The harbor freight ratchet feels more flimsy but it hasn't died yet and I have dropped it many times. For infrequent use I wouldn't hesitate to choose the harbor freight over the more expensive brand names.

the battery is goofy on the ryobi. i can imagine it getting hung on up things constantly when trying to reach into tight spaces.

what the fuck? if it's powered it's not a ratchet, it's a right angle electric screwdriver.

The head of the Ryobi ratchet rotates 360°. I have one and it isn't too bad.

I wish Bosch made one for their 12v and had the rotating Ryobi head. That would be the ultimate power ratchet.

they can be used just like a regular ratchet for breaking loose and torqueing down bolts but save you a ton of time running in/out bolts.

its a fat chode tool. it's a lot of money to save 15 seconds on a bolt, and only bolts that are in places the fat chode tool can reach

I made an adapter to fit 4" grinding wheels and cuttoff disks on mine, it's much slower than the angle grinder but way safer. Never going back to the high speed grinder after a near miss.

no. just no. this is not safer. what's the runout on it? did you find a way to compensate for the runout on both the tool and ratchet? why the fuck would you even try this?

My bro and I pull engines for resale and have our choice of tools (we're retired easily afford it). The HF is so useful we both have one despite having many other cordless tools. We both ran USAF toolrooms and are lifelong aircraft/car/truck/whatever mechs.

The small head and narrow shank are what make them so handy for running fasteners (NOT breaking torque which the length makes easy to do manually,

Learn to use angle grinders properly including staying out of plane of rotation and always using guards with cutting wheels and grinding rocks.

Some retard at work spent $200 on a milfuckee cordless ratchet, bragged that it made him "faster" at removing bolts. Everyone elses uses hand ratchets. He doesn't make any more money than other people.

Well, all the tradie boomers DID scream for decades trying to push kids into getting degrees and office jobs.
Their bodies failing on them before they ever got to retire must have felt devastating.

It must not be a very good job if $200 is a lot of money to you.

My rule is if I don't know if I'm going to use it much (ie just need one for a current project) then buy the cheap harbor freight version and if I find I use it then upgrade and keep the HF as a backup.

You retards need to realize that you gotta stop trying to work as fast as possible. If I work slow, my boss complains but hes never gonna fire me for being slow because he is already having trouble finding enough workers. If I work fast, I just give myself extra trouble and don't get paid any more.

You dont have to work fast just because you have a powered ratchet

>> No.2525014

I work for myself and power tools reduce RSI which comes from ALL movements not just rapidly cycling a manual tool.

For example the HF is ideal for bellhousing and starter bolts which due to location are slow, tedious and often painful due to nearby obstacles to remove. It's far easier to reach the area with that long ratchet, use the leverage to manually break torque, then run the fastener using the motor.
