Can't be too expensive, and it needs to last me a long time. I will be welding all sorts of materials, but the main purpose will be welding steel tubes for automotive applications.

Same. I’m looking to make a ribbon mixer, a stainless steel box with tri clamp fittings, and some other stainless stuff. Pls advise sers

Everlast Power i-TIG 200T

You will need to purge the back side of stainless welds using either a second argon bottle or buy a dual flowmeter regulator with a purge line hooked up. Look up videos how it's done.

For thin wall tubing, you should be performing autogenous welds (no filler metal). Look up sanitary welding for more info.

Make one yourself. My grandpa has one that looks diy made, it is literally a cable reel in a wood box, weights around 50kg... i think it has 40 years, when you weld with it, the light in the house goes out.

i have this exact machine under a different brand, great machine.
two bottles? out of your fucking tree pal mr fucking moneybags over here.
i suggest pedal is an absolute must, aiming the torch is too important to waste your hand holding a button, and controlling the power on the go is a game changer when you are still figuring things out.
get lanthinated (blue) tungsten electrodes, thoriated give you cancer or some shit when you sharpen them idk.

also, why does it say
>Virtually any metal except Aluminum and Magnesium
under recommended metals?

>Everlast Power i-TIG 200T
Its DC only, if you want to do aluminum you have to get a machine that also does AC
Aluminum TIG is expensive equipment wise.

AHP Alpha Tig 201x is what I use and it's great, you can weld pretty much anything with it.

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Longevity-120-Volt-140-Amp-MIG-Flux-Cored-Wire-Feed-Welder/1002262368

Is this a good start or is there something better in this price range, any advice appreciated.
