I plan on writing on a 100% cotton white shirt with black lipstick. Are there any products that will prevent the lipstick from staining/smudging once the lipstick is on the shirt? Is there anything I should put on the shirt before applying the lipstick?

Don't think there is a way to make this work very well / at all. You need to get a fabric marker, tee juice fabric markers would probably be your best bet for emulating makeup.

Darn. I was trying to go for an "authentic" look. Would writing over the lipstick with a fabric marker work? Or would that create more of a mess?

That's gonna look terrible. Use something else-- like grease paint, or pencils intended for use on ceramics.

Why would you want lipstick instead of sharpie or fabric marker or paint marker or spray paint?

I wanted to make a shirt for class. I'm doing a speech on why people shouldn't wear black lipstick and I thought the shirt would be a nice touch.

That sounds like the most useless class ever. Why didn't you do engineering, son?

I've never really been into engineering. The communication class is just an elective.

There might be a finishing spray you can use over the lipstick. Try hobby lobby or maybe JoAnns.

I had to take a speech class as part of my gen eds. Just because someone is in the class doesn't mean they made a poor choice in majors.

I think I have a can of some spray fixative somewhere in my house. I will have to check. Thanks!
