I just made this. Sorry for the blurry pics. It's difficult to get everything right sometimes.

I tried to make the pics speak for themselves. The metal strip I used is the stainless steel strip of metal you get out of car windshield wipers. It's the piece that helps hold the rubber on the wiper arm. In case you haven't guessed, this is a automatic-bumpkey and lockpick combo.

Neat.

Does it work?

As for me, I made a crosscut sled for my tablesaw, and it wasn't square, so I gave up and went home. Typical.

Yes, but it isn't instant and you need a torsion wrench of course, these pics are just showing the rakes.

This one came from here,

Not to be a dick, but I pick a lot of locks and have been doing so for a couple years. A lot of your rakes seem like they will get stuck in the lock. Nothing sucks more than putting a new pick in and getting it stuck in a lock and having to leave it there or break it off. To fix this make sure your slopes between peaks are not to steep. I would recommend not making them any more than 50 degrees from the horizontal.

Noted and thanks. It's my first set of picks and the metal would sometimes jitter and the Dremel would take more that it should have. So, it was a battle of simply learning the material and how much could stick out of the vice to prevent jittering. I have like 500 strips of that metal, so I can just whip up more if needed. I haven't had them stick yet, but I've only picked like 10-13 locks with them.

I need to actually print out the templates I have, but I haven't got around to that.

>>146023
Ah, I missed what the stuff was on the left side. I take it that diffracts light then.

>> No.146034

Naw, it's just the filters for the incoming light so I can split out a clean first order diffraction by band. Hoping to test some of the setup with a real grating tonight.

Just sayin' - Why don't you bind the encolsure in faux fur, you know, like a friggin mammoth? That will give the word FUZZ-BOX a new meaning (inb4 YIFF IN HELL). Long-shaft pots are a must though, you don't want any tangling.
Also, do you have a metal shop in your area? you ccould get your logo in aluminum or plate steel. That'd look really badass.

I'm in the process of making a vent hood for soldering, plastic welding, Dremeling, etc. Basically, for anything that causes fumes or smoke. This is what it looks like right now. The box in the window has a fan from a microwave which sucks air out of the big box and spits it outside. The electric cord for the fan runs through the venting. That's a dimmer switch I have currently hooked up. The brown metal is the case top off a huge microwave.

I plan on adding a 24" shop light in the top of this and boxing it in the rest of the way. The front will have plexi glass. The light will have a rocker switch and there will be one plug in outlet on it for electric tools. My hands will go under the plexiglass on the front. It's kind of like a blast cabinet without the gloves. I plan to make the plexiglass slideable and adjustable. That way it can be fully closed, fully removed, or partially open. I may end having a second piece of plexiglass with rubber glove attachments so i can do some small sandblasting or whatever. Once done I'll paint it all one color and maybe put up some often used charts and diagrams inside.

I missed getting stuff to finish this since all the stores are close, so I just whipped up some cardboard, plastic wrap, and a CFL to hold it over until I get the stuff to finish it. I've been do all sorts of work in it and it's been a dream at removing the fumes from anything I put in it.
