Interesting advice. Unfortunately, I tried to get some new weatherproof cobsons printed from a sticker decal company, and the estimates I got back on them were insane. $60 for three lousy 1.5" -tall stickers. That was what prompted me to get down to doing things like in the OP pic again, which was taken today.
I also decided to buy some wallpaper paste, at the suggestion of one of my friends (pic related). But I'm still not sure this is the ideal method for implementing "fuck-you" adhesiveness, as >>2768146 described.
