If you're going the make-your-own-frame-from-framing-stock approach, I've done about 30 or 40 of them. It's not that hard if you can saw a nice neat 45 degree miter cut *AND* have an appropriate clamp. If you're on a budget, "Pony" makes a nice band clamp with 4 corners that will suffice to clamp the whole thing. Cut the 4 pieces carefully, use good glue and optionally a brad or 2 at each corner to temporarily hold it, then use the clamp while it cures. (*DO* test fit before gluing.)

Where can I find a cheap solution to building the chassis for custom robos?
I got a cheap set of Meccano at the trash and treasure market but it wasn't nearly big enough so I got more gears from aliexpress (pic related)
Now I'm looking for something similar to Meccano to build my chassis out of, perhaps something made of plastic for cheap.
Maybe I shouldn't be posting this on ohm but I figured someone here might know and it saves creating a 1 trick pony thread

>Tries to attack position
>Confirms everything I'm saying
Cause you were confirming what I was saying, dude. Screws have their place. That place is not in joining two pieces of wood together in any 'fine woodworking' project. I don't know how you can read my post above (>>1130906) and then come up with >>1130916. I literally say they are good for hardware there. So, again, I state that you should read more than the first line of the post before making a reply.

A crap Kreg jig is like $40 new. Their deluxe models are over $100. Then you have to buy their special screws when you run out. The drill bit is also custom, so it's a special purchase to replace as well. I've picked up a dozen Pony pipe clamps for $5 a pop at garage sales. I have so many Jorgenson wooden clamps I've lost count. The most I've ever paid for one is $8. F clamps and C/G clamps are super common at sales. Hell, in a pinch I have even used ratcheting tie downs for large pieces (use cardboard to protect the edges of the wood and where the ratcheting mechanism will hit). If cost is an issue don't buy inferior tools, just keep a weather eye out and buy good used tools for cheap.

Called CEB. Compressed earth block.

Build big lever activated press, bottle jack press, or pony up for a 7 ton log splitter like me.

Bonus. Shreaded cardboard, paper, and leaves soaked in water over night and oress and dry for fire logs.

Another bonus. Beer can press. 1.5 gazillion cans per cubic foot.

Make sure and okay it with the scrap yard first or find a company they trust to take them since u in theiry could hide a fucking canon ball in it and rip them off.

Good luck bro.

I hear it takes a lot of fucking blocks to do much. And ~10% concrete mixed with the dirt nakes a big difference.

Be interested to see anything u come up with.

Although this building method has been used for thousands of years its not real modernized since we have had concrete for hundreds.

But a name that people need to understand isn't a one trick pony. Mind you, WD40 white lithium with the flip up straw thing is amazing.

>>1119240
I wasn't pretending, or trolling anything. The name brand isn't the company. Water Displacement, formula 40, isn't the company, it's their flagship. It's what made them famous, and their namesake. But it's hardly the only thing they do.

Why not build a go cart raceway?

Its fun as hell and educational for kids.

I keep thinking schools need to send kids to go cart places before they learn to drive.

Kinda like riding a pony before you ride a horse

Jesus Christ, dude, you're seriously stupid. Have fun getting stabbed and buttfucked in an alleyway because you were enough of a sperg to think this was remotely possible. Or better yet, you gut yourself as you beat your meat to pony porn wearing your sheetmetal """gauntlet""" and bleed out in a puddle of your own jizz and shame.

Yes
I was paying for cable because thats what I am "supposed" to do.
Pretty much all I watched was Game of Thrones and NFL.

My bill had gotten enormous as it was second year into the contract, so first year rates died.

Instead of going through the horse and pony show to get a new contract I just cancelled altogether.
After the promotional rates ended I was paying around 210$ a month for cable and internet. Now I just pay 60$ a month for internet.

After a few months of savings not paying for cable I got a dedicated Plex rig.
You tend to watch a whole lot more movies and TV when you hand pick stuff you want to watch or know you like.

I also share the Plex server with other server owners, so I have their libraries to watch too.

Now I watch NFL over the air, or on a stream. I usually DVRed anything i wanted to watch, so downloading it a day or two later is no different.
I have a Prime account, but their streaming selection is meh or you have to pay for it individually. Netflix is trash, Hulu is worse than trash.
Im pretty happy right now honestly as a casual tv and movie watcher.

Leatherman Sidekick/Wingman if you just want something cheap, they're like $30 or something. If you wanna pony up to the actually gud ones then I'd look at the Rebar or Wave (most popular one).

Pony still makes decent pipe clamps. Still made in the USA too. You buy the clamp and then you get a length of pipe the size you want. Make sure at least one end is threaded. You can get a 1/2 inch clamp off of Amazon for about $10 but you should buiy the pipe locally. It's generally cheaper.

Oh and for the posted pic. I guarantee that those were laser.

Mine weren't crap you bought at a store. Over the years find out what the extended family likes and each year make a unique ornament for each of them. A horse for her, a pony for her, an RV for him, antlers for him, a tractor for him, a mountain range for her, crap like that. Then after they were cut I would base coat them and then paint over them. That was the hardest and most painstakingly long part. Then burn in their name, my initials and the year on the back.

Also, I forgot to mention, cut wide so you can rasp and sand down. Wish I still had pics now that I think about it. Work has been too much this year. I normally start them in August.

Plastic it one of those things that is hard to get right, especially when you are talking about injection moulded pieces, you can build a vacuum form easily enough but injection moulding is something I've never seen an amateur do, although I bet at least one or two have tried, this is one of those times that I'd say just pony up the money and buy a stock from a shop.

Back in days I was a stupid kid and gave my my little pony figure a makeover.

Any ideas how to get rid of markes without damaging the toy itself? I believe it might be permanent marker. Doesn't go off with water anyway.

Are you literally retarded? Why are you wasting your time vaccuming? It's 2016 not 1960. Buy a damn roomba. I have a dog and a cat so I know what it's like to have hair over everything you own. Take it from me, a roomba is a great investment if you have pets. I vacuumed once to remove a lot of hair, and I've used the roomba since twice a week to maintain a hair free house. Every now and then if someone is spending the night or something I'll do a regular vacuum just to make sure it gets a deep clean. But otherwise I let Rosie keep the hair away. Really nice to be able to drop a shirt on the floor and pick it up without it being covered in hair. And now I can sit on the living room rug and it's no longer covered in hair. Sure Roomba's have an upfront cost. But it's not just about the money. It's about your time. You don't wash dishes do you? No. The dishwasher does that. You don't wash clothes do you? No. The washing machine does that. And you shouldn't be vacuuming your house either, your roomba should do that. One less chore in life and more free time. Pony up the cash and let something else do it for you. I wish I had bought my Roomba the day I bought my dog. Would have saved me so much stress and free time dealing with that damn hair. Worth. Every. Penny.

the compressor cost me about 15 bucks, and the die grinder cost about 30. So cheaper than most name-brand dremels, and a hell of a lot better than any electric tool. Plus I can run any variety of air tools with it, compared to your dremel's one-trick pony act.

>trying to trivialize the fucking circus of retarded gimmicks that Robot Wars had

At least the hammer is a weapon that you could use against the other bot.

Robot Wars was a horse and pony show.
>flames continuously coming out of the walls
>big bots sitting in the corners
>house bots intervening in the match if you get to close to the corners
>beat your opponent by lamely pushing it into a hole in the floor
>if bot get KOed, the match doesnt end
>house bots spend as much or more time than the actual match pushing it around
>pick it up and throw it in the pit
>pick it up and throw it out of the arena
>pick it up and put it on a catapult device to flip the bot over
>all while cheesey music is playing and commentator yelling about how ruthless it is.

Over production of a show sucks sure, but robot wars went way over the top to appeal to 8 year olds.

I posted it. I wish. Krowzivitch on Deviant Art created them. She also did a bunch of other very cool designs. Also did some on commission. Some years back she changed over to making custom My Little Pony figures on commission (her latest). She hasn't posted a new amigurumi in 4 years.

I spent a good chunk of money buying the previous "dyson killers" - hoover cyclone - shark navigator lift away. Pure garbage. Finally bought a dyson and its alright. Over engineered and known to have power switch problems but it works good. If the want the absolue best that you can hand down to your grandkids then pony up and get a kirby.

>my house that is a shack in a huge field the nearest neighborhood is 200 Mt and even the nearest source of water.

When I lived in a rural area I had an above ground pool but my well wouldn't provide enough water quick enough. I hired a water truck for about $200 burgers and it was filled within minutes.

> No budget

Well, get whoever is forcing you to throw a pool party to pony up for the hose/pump or water truck.
