Beans on toast is dope. I baked a loaf of bread one day and cut a thick af slice and toasted it, then I topped it with beans (butter beans/cannellini beans) in a sauce I made, then topped with grated cheese, fried bacon and mushrooms, then garnished with parsley. It was the tits mate.

From memory I don't think I buttered the toast and just put cracked pepper on top (sometimes a bit of salt depending on brand)

I've never had it but honestly the OP pic has convinced me to give it a try next time I go to the supermarket. I don't think I'd like beans on regular white bread but toasted Italian bread with butter and some tomato sauce beans sounds amazing.

It's a great quick snack. Just don't use american beans. Salt and pepper the beans and add some paprika. From an american point of a view I can see why this is seen as revolting because their bread and heinze beans are different to those in Britain. I mean, I've never tried an American beans on toast but from the sounds of it I imagine it would taste pretty different.

I haven't tried beans on "toast" per se, but I have had beans on untoasted buttered bread many times. It used to be my goto "I don't-really-feel-like-making-dinner" dinner. I put some cut up sausage in the beans when cooking to add some nutritional value to the meal. Then I ate it with white bread with butter.
