Brits who eat eggs and beans for breakfast are no better than wetbacks, they insist on subjecting everyone around them to their noxious wind all day. Savages.

I tried heating a can of beans for the first time in my life. and i was amazed, that all this time i was eating it, that it had the potential of tasting so good.
So i went to town - can of beans in the morning, then midday, then i thoguht "Man I should cook dinner... but why not just heat a can of my beloved beans?"

About a few weeks later i had some terrible food poisoning that lasted for probably 3 or 4 days, where I couldn't even put food in my mouth without throwing up. After it had all gone away, i was too scared to eat beans again just incase it was what caused the earlier ailment.

This was 3-4 years ago, and i haven't eaten even a single bean since then, and probably never will. to be honest i'm over it - I know what it tastes like, and while its nice, i'm not as crazy about it as i used to be. still, i wish i didn't inflict that silly bean-chasing diet on myself.

Had them once for dinner and hated them. The idea of eating that first thing in the morning makes me nauseous.

Baked beans are how the sassenachs fill up a plate cheaply, instead of adoring it with freshly cooked red pudding, clootie dumplings, potato scones, Lorne sausage and such like.
They also sometime have chips, the stupid cunts.

Wooow, a whole 0.6g per portion?
Oh no.

On a side note each slice of roberts sliced white bread has 0.5g.
A fucking ham sandwich has more salt than a portion of this.

Fuck off.

tips

>slow cook on stove until most sauce is gone and it's all thick
>or just microwave them and drain most of the sauce
>add hot sauce, paprika, herbs, bacon bits etc.
>serve with scrambled egg on toast, or cheese on toast
>top beans on toast with cheese, then add woostershire sauce, and put it under the grill
>beans go with pretty much any meal you can think of

Everybody: Aren't baked beans a part a "full English breakfast"?

>> No.16451663

>>16451556
Can be.

A full english is a collection of typical items you can choose from. Not a set dish.
Baked beans are good for fiber and protein, the are mainly a vehicle for the tomato sauce they come in though for flavour.

So if you have baked beans there's little point having grilled tomatos or ketchup.
Likewise if you have grilled tomatos i'd pick more toast instead of beans aswell.

Absolutely inferior to the glorious Amerilard cowboy ham&beans for breakfast.

American beans are so hideously sweet that it's like eating desert and you can actually feel your teeth decaying.

I mean they're still kind of alright in the right context, but a totally different thing really.

>> No.16452261

I mean it's pretty telling that your default canned beans all, to a one, have added sugar in the form of one or more of molasses, brown sugar, or artificial sweetener.

For what it's worth though, I've never had canned american beans, to my knowledge - only beans from BBQ places in the states, usually with added beef or pork, so kind of invalidates your point anyway.

I think you're confused - I didn't actually dislike them that much, like I said. With some strong tasting BBQ they're ok. It's just that comparatively, they're extremely sweet to my palate. If that's the sort of addition you're suggesting in >>16451976 then I'll stick to what we already have..

make your own beans in a pressure cooker, drain them, and store them in the fridge.
I make bean tomato and mushroom chili with home made bread every morning.
The beans will slightly ferment in the fridge if you make a bunch of them. The slight fermentation will drastically reduce the gassiness of the beans.
